The Deputy Commissioner was addressing a function to launch a new cable TV channel called “Amaaba Valley” and to award two doctorate scholars, whose thesis have been selected for sponsorship.

AMS provides appliance to differently abled persons
ITANAGAR, May 28: With an objective to provide basic curative and rehabilitative services to differently abled persons, Amik Matai Society (AMS) donated a tricycle to Durga Bhattacharjee, a casual mechanic serving under the PHE Department after he approached the Society for it four months ago.
It is pertaining to mention here that his left leg was amputated a year ago at CMC, Vellore after a minor injury in his leg while crossing a cattle bridge discharging official duty.
The Secretary of Amik Matai Society informed that the organization has been dedicatedly working towards promotion of inclusive, barrier free and right based society for the differently abled. JMS raises question on the clarification issued by accused’s brother

Later in the evening, a coordination meeting of all the managers of the five Gas Agencies of Capital Complex, IOC sales officer and F&CS officers was held under the chairmanship of Amit Bengia to discuss ways and means to curve black marketing of domestic LPG cylinders by the unscrupulous petty traders. During the meeting, Bengia dwelt at length on the provisions of Arunachal Pradesh Cooking Gas (Licensing and Distribution) Control Order 2005 and provision U/S 3 of Essential Commodities Act 1955 etc. Informing that appropriate action shall be initiated against all the black marketers of domestic LPG cylinders, Bengia further informed that highly subsidized LPG cylinders meant for domestic cooking purposes are illegally used in the commercial establishments, thereby compounding artificial crisis of refilled LPG cylinders in and around Capital Complex and causing hardship to the general consumers.
Earlier, IOC sales officer, North Lakhimpur Lila Rajkhowa informed that supply of LPG bullet tankers from Haldia Port in West Bengal and Numalighar in Assam to the LPG bottling plant at Kimin in Arunachal Pradesh was disrupted due to 120 hours strike called by North East Bulk Association (Transporters) resulting in temporary shortage of refilled LPG cylinders across the districts of Arunachal Pradesh in particular and North East region as a whole.

While condemning the Bomdila incident, Itanagar Buddhist Cultural Society (IBCS) demanded that miscreants who indulged in violence should immediately be booked and punished for such heinous act. Further the Society appealed everyone to maintain calm at this juncture. The Society also came down heavily on district administration for their failure to provide full proof security to the VIPs.
PLP leader condemns Bomdila incident
The Leader of People's Legislature Party (PLP) Pasang Dorjee Sona today strongly condemned yesterday’s Bomdila incident where an angry mob reportedly attacked three MLAs from Tawang and damaged their vehicles during the funeral rites of TG Rinpoche, who died under mysterious circumstance in Delhi on May 16.
While calling upon the people to maintain peace in this hour of distress, Sona, who is also MLA from Mechukha, said that such incident will not benefit anyone.
“Any misunderstandings or issues should be solved amicably through negotiations and dialogue so that peace and harmony is not disturbed,” he added.

What went wrong with the department which is supposed to look after each road connecting the sectors and colonies, even the remote areas in the state? This question often goes unanswered; heaven knows what the state Public Works Department has been doing all these years. Is our department well equipped to tackle natural calamities like landslide and flood? Or it is the laxity of the officials which is slowing our state down. As Chief Minister Nabam Tuki is yet to assign someone as the PWD minister, people are pinning their hope that new minister will certainly pay his attention towards poor road and communication. Otherwise imagine development without roads!

Farmers yet to receive subsidy under MMP scheme

RUKSIN, May 28: Commercial horticulturists, including rubber and tea planters of East Siang district, have voiced discontent with the policy designing of ‘Mission Mode Project (MMP)’ under Chief Minister’s Plantation Corp Mission claiming that it failed to fulfill the needs of the farmers.
The Chief Minister’s Plantation Corp Mission was launched in the state in order to give financial assistance to the commercial horticulturists, who are involves in tea and rubber plantation activities. The scheme was initially covering six Upper Arunachal districts, including East Siang, Lohit, Lower Dibang Valley, Tirap, Changlang and Longding besides West Siang, East Kameng and Papum Pare.
The state government proposed an investment of Rs 3 crore for tea cultivation and
another Rs 2 crore for rubber cultivation under the Chief Minister’s Mission Mode
Project (MMP) during 2013-
But, it is alleged that actual and needy farmers have been deprived from the benefit
under the scheme. They are quite unhappy to know the fact that, out of the above
500 rubber planters in the district, only 46 farmers-
East Siang District Agriculture Officer, who is the nodal officer of the scheme, informed that he was not concerned with money matter in this scheme, but their duty is to collect the application from the interested farmers and to monitor progress of the plantation activities.
“We have been assigned to submit the approved beneficiaries’ list to the concerning directorate and to monitor plantation activities. The Directorate of Trade & Commerce is all set to supply rubber sapling/tea bush through contractor. We are not informed whether the benefit will be given to the beneficiaries in the form of cash or kind”, the DAO said.
It is pertaining to mention here that the Tea Board under the Ministry of Trade and Commerce set up a regional office at Itanagar headed by one Assistant Director for development of the tea plantation activities in the state. As such, the Jorhat regional office of Rubber Board India (RBI) under the Union Ministry of Industry and Commerce had launched rubber cultivation project in the state.

CIF Kolkata visits Itanagar Childline

Especially at Yingkiong public is very upset with the service of BSNL. In this 21st century rest of the world is equipped with 4G, 5G but the people of Upper Siang are still waiting for 3G service. The only broad band service in the dist is the worst as most of the time broad band service is cut off due to the reason best known to the authorities. We the poor citizen is paying our hard earn money to get broad band service with a hope that we can get update of local dailies online as local news paper of the state takes 3 days to reach Yinkiong. BSNL is the only hope but nothing can change the fate of this district. The district administration is silent in this issue even after repeated request made by public as they are paying bills from the govt fund but what about poor public which is paying from own pocket even without getting proper service. Both the authorities’ i.e BSNL & dist. administration need to address the grievances of the public and wake up from the deep slumber! If they can’t do anything, at least they must arrange to rebate the monthly rental. I am amazed to see all the officers carrying smart phone in the district and I can’t understand how they are using this smart phone where 3G, wi fi service is not available. I mean what is the meaning of having this smart phone???? Last but not the least I hope GM BSNL will understand the suffering of this poor district in particular and the state as a whole and find out amicable solution to this long pending dreams of the citizen.

Political appointees are useless
Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily I would like to state that Chairman & Vice-
Whenever common public of the state wants to meet officer then the PA(personal assistant)
replies, “SIR BOL RAHA HAI Kl CHAIRMAN SAB SAT MEIN HAIN, KAL AANE KELIYE BOLA Hain.”
On the next day same answer is repeated by PA of each department. But fact is that
inside the office those voracious wolfs are doing nothing but just bargaining with
the officers to claim their quota from whatever scheme given by state government
to the concern departments. This is nothing but an act to get individual benefit.
Poor thing is that even officers are not allowed to work freely by those useless
appointed chairman and vice-
Therefore, I would like to ask state government ‘what will be the power and function of Minister/MLA,’ if Chairman and Vice Chairman occupy every departments. Let elected leaders enjoy their power and function as per power conferred by the state govt.
So, we are hopeful that new government under the leadership of Chief Minister Nabam Tuki will stop this political appointment system in the interest of Arunachal.

Broad day light robbery

Most shopkeeper never return balance money instead they opts for Candies, Chewing gum etc. When questioned they answered, "Bhai change nahi hain." These are broad daylight robbery and it has been possible only due to sheer arrogance shown by public towards change money. Also there's extra additional money including retail price charged by shopkeeper in the names of transportation charges, cooling charge etc. As of now I rarely see any person complaining/asking for remaining changed money and have never seen any action taken by the concerned department toward these shopkeepers.
So people wake up from the slumber and starting tomorrow ask for remaining money and register your complain at consumer forum as in democracy few voice are not enough to make an impact. We all need to join our hand and roar till the lung gives out “UNITED WE STAND DIVIDE WE FALL"

Shameless act
As per the report published in various local dailies, Students’ Union of Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Polytechnic, Itanagar alleged that the land belonging to institute is being encroached by the public. Union has demanded Additional District Magistrate (ADM) to make spot visit of the encroached land and evict all the encroachers immediately. It is believed that encroachers have developed bamboo plantation in the encroached area and have started to claim the plantation area as their land.
This report should be taken seriously by the education department and cases should be lodged against those encroachers. It is matter of great concern as to how insane citizen of this state has become that they are starting to encroach upon the land of educational institution. Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Polytechnic is one of the few technical institutes of state which is offering professional courses to the young students. We all are proud of this institute and should contribute to make it even better. The citizens should not disturb the sanctity of institute by indulging in such shameless act of encroachment.
